This blog represents my desire for creating fun and exciting visuals that I am immensely proud of. So Please, come in and enjoy the delights of my bright visual world.
I have uploaded another drawing, this time I have visually created Newcastle United's powerful centre forward Andy Carroll. I admire his power and determination as a professional footballer and hopefully he can fire us to success.
This is a sketch of the Newcastle United centre back Fabricio Coloccini. Pencil is possibly my most prefered medium to use when drawing because I love the different tone of line you can achieve.
The t-shirts I have posted are representations of how I can work on different media. I plan to develop this further by designing cd covers, book covers and anything else I think needs my crazy designs.
Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) was an American actress who was seen by many as the ultimate sex goddess of Hollywood. Artists such as Peter Blake and Andy Warhol used stars such as Marilyn to give pop a rich iconography. In a way pop stars, pin ups and stars of rock 'n' roll became obsessive expressions of mass culture.
As in the 1950s when Pop Art embraced consumer culture, everyday branded objects became art that everyone could buy. Objects such as the Coca-Cola bottle were cheap enough for everyone to buy resulting in commercial mass production of the product. This can also be seen in Andy Warhols' 'Campbell's Soup Cans' each one of which was available to the consumer. In some ways this is very similar with items such as milk because it is a mass produced product and can be bought by any-one rich or poor.
During the 1950s Pop Art became extremely popular with many artists' paying particular attention to the consumer culture. Much of the artwork from the time portrayed brand name products such as Coca Cola and Campbell's Soup cans. However attention was also being paid to comic strip characters such as Mickey Mouse and movie/music stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.
Didier Drogba is one of the stars of football that I am looking forward to watching at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. He is such a powerful and explosive footballer, which makes him one of the most valuable strikers in the world. I created this design by using print and collage with his beard and country logo being applied using acrylic paint.
I am a very talented individual with a great passion for creating bright and interesting visual images. I show a great amount of intelligence whilst always working to the limits of my capabilities.
